THE PERSON THAT I ADMIRE THE 

MOST – MY AUNT

There are a lot of people in this world that help in shaping our futures and the kind of people we will become when we grow older. We all have this one person that we can share everything with, for me it is my aunt- Purva.
She is not a famous celebrity or a billionaire entrepranuer or a star sportsperson but for me she is the best person in the world. It is not because of the adoration we feel towards each other as relatives but because - whether it be encouraging me to stand out in the crowd or recommending good books, she has always been there when I needed her.
A few years ago, I was burdened under peer pressure and had lost all hope in myself that is when she gave me the courage to be confident and optimistic. She made me fall in love with my own self and happily look forward to whatever comes next.
I have seen her play the role of a mother, wife and daughter-in-law apart from an aunt and I must say she manages to capture it perfectly. She shows the utmost veneration and affection for everyone around. Her morale as well as social ethics are the ones that have made her who she is and I try and copy her behavior and mannerism. She has taught me to never stop fighting the demons that you cross paths with and to believe in yourself. She is a lamp that burns bright and shows me the way through the darkest dungeons of life.

I idolize her for she is the only one who has managed to break down my walls and show me the path to endless possibilities. I have and will always thrive to be more like her, to be perfect.

The Post 370 Era.

The historic Constitutional Order that rendered Article 370 and 35A null and void was passed on 5th of August. For seven decades, this 'special status', formed the socio-political identity of the people of Kashmir. But it was never a 'special status', it was only a temporary act meant to lend time to Kashmiris and India to decide the fate of the region and all its people. In theory, removing these acts will allow complete integration of the territories of Jammu and Kashmir into the Indian Union, something which was long overdue. However, those out on the streets beating drums and firing crackers may be celebrating too soon because the real challenges begin now.  NOW, WHAT? When examined thoroughly in the present context, removing the law and creating two UT's from the region are only symbolic measures and do not assure any peace or development. Ozymandias- A King Full Of Regret

Having read the above poem, I started imagining how Ozymandias would feel if he were to come to life to see the condition of his statue. I then got hold of some paper and penned this Shakespeare style sonnet. ."My name is Ozymandias , king of kings: Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair." Is what I had gotten inscribed on the marvelous statue That was meant to withstand time. All has perished and nothing survives. Not a soul to tell my tale. Just this colossal wreck, that greets Travelers from far off lands. Sunken are it's two legs and the face lies nearby. My hideous expression is what give me away And makes one wonder for what did I boast When all my witnesses exist no more. It is futile to ache for worldly pleasures and lifeless elements. Since it is as one might loose oneself in the lands of sand without having a haven to go to.
