#ForTheSelfMade

People are born not made, but some are not as privileged as the rest or lack something the others may possess. It is when such people rise above the rest on their own that they are called self-made. Self made, meaning to make or perfect oneself according to one's own will. True? False. Being self made requires so much more. It requires the knowledge to know your own self, to jump into the deep oblivion of your heart and brain and solve the mysteries inside of you. To conquer oneself, before conquering the world. It is to be philanthropic without letting it seem so. To be kind to your juniors and all around you without letting it get to your head. It is to watch your whole world crumble down in front of your eyes, but without as much as making a sound, building it up again without losing hope. It is to trust oneself when all else doubt you. If you can make it to the top after meeting with disasters and still call the ride to be the part because of what it taught you.

The Book Of Memories.

I pulled the last box out of the rusty mover’s truck and turned around to make my way upstairs. The stairs that led me to my new apartment were, to sugar-coat it, “dingy.” It was a Victorian-style building that was clearly a hundred years old. It was well lived in, by many old officials of the British army. Later, due to a shortage of space in the city, these apartments were rented out as smaller spaces for much cheaper prices. Anyway, I had no right to complain. I mean I was getting all this for peanuts. Sure it’s not luxurious but it fits my budget and has all the necessities. I reached upstairs to find the movers’ driver standing outside with the door ajar. He helped me stack the last box on top of the rest and stood with his hands on his hips. Are we supposed to tip? I mean, what the hell’s service tax for? He huffed and so I placed a couple of dollars on his palm that he had very demandingly brought out. He huffed again, disappointed, turned around and left, banging the door b

Is The Glass Half Empty Or Half Full?

It's the age old question that categorizes you as a pessimist or optimist. An experiment conducted by psychologists to discover more about  the human psychology. It all seems pretty stupid to me. I mean you know me! My eccentric personality and deep thoughts. I have many a times found myself at the border where one situation bends me towards one side and another towards the other. I have been asked this question lot of times (seriously guys! its overated!) I have never been able to answer it because if I say its half empty am i really a pessimist? And if I say half full, well , am I really an optimist? After putting much thought into it I have derived a conclusion. That instead of pondering over it I'd rather drink the water and then think about whether I'm still thirsty. If yes, then where to get more water from? I am a realist, I don't always think positive and I'm surely not always negative. I live in the pleasant moment that is now but at the same time tend
Life is a series of moments. some happy. Some sad. Who we are and what we are is shaped by these moments. If we don't experience the difficult and trying times, what would we be? This is the balance of human nature. I just have to except this fact. You know some people are happy able to be happy even in sad times. I just have to master that. I know I will. I hope other people do too. This one time I was talking this classmate of mine and she told me that my problems were nothing compared to hers. And what problem was that you asked- "My parents don't allow me to use Facebook!!!" I felt like slapping her at the same time being tremendously jealous. I asked if that is the only thing that bothered her. That that was her only problem. She replied with a " Yaaaaaaaa , what else, yaar . But just because my problem is not a life or death situation doesn't mean my problem is not big. I am missing out on so much. My social life is in danger!!!!!." I was com

REACTION TO- My Choice.

Image
My Choice. The video , recently, released by Deepika Padukone has created quite some flack. Where half the world is with it the other half is against it. Or should I say the other gender? The video showcases Padukone and a couple other celebrities talking about how their choices are their business and nobody else's. What we wear, how we wear it, what we do, whether we marry or not? And , yes, to a certain extent women are entitled to their choices. But if they are entitled to theirs shouldn't men be entitled to their own. What they are asking is to not be criticized about everything they do. I believe in that. But then why should we criticize men about what they do? Being a feminist does not mean we be anti-men.That is not what feminism is. Feminism empowers women and just that. The anti-men attitude is putting feminism in the dark shadows.  So we ask for our rights but neglect others, whatever we do is our choice but what others do is not? If I look at it

Paper Towns- READ IT NOW.

If it is possible to be addicted to a couple of  printed pages like being addicted to crack, then I am addicted to John Green. He is my source of relief from the undermining world. His style of writing is addictive! Of course the first book I read by him was The Fault In Out Stars (I cry just thinkin bout it.) To all those TFIOS fans- there is more where that came from. Paper towns is a subtle love story. It is about the belief that we have in first love. It stretches the limits we'd cross for our loved ones. It goes beyond affection. It's funny (Green's got a real funny bone!) and more that anything it's truthful. It's fiction which makes you believe in everyday fairytales. It is the story of Quentin Jacobson, who since he was a wee little lass was in love with a girl called Margo Roth Spiegelman. 'A girl' won't be an appropriate phrase.... she was more of a mystery. People are way different up close than what we see them as from afar. Very, very di

Natalia Kills Bullies X-Factor Contestant.

Nobody really understands how much words can effect a person's feelings, self-esteem or ego. We completely exploit our freedom of speech by misusing it to the fullest. Sure! You can go ahead and state your opinion to a variety of subjects but , I think, as people of a human society we owe our fellow humans a little respect. Insulting somebody at this level in front of such a large crowd is absolutely inacceptable. As somebody who feels so harshly against bullying, I feel as if where there are celebrities who highly support anti-bullying , celebrities like her are disgusting. I have never in my life felt so strongly against something. "Respect Of Originality" She asks? I hardly think she should be using the word respect. Joe Irwin took it amazingly and the audience present also booed Kills. I was happy to hear how she and her husband were fired as the X-Factor did not think them to be capable of judging the show. In one night Natalia killed  her's as well as her hu

THE WEDDING DRESS

I strolled down to where the crew had set up their cameras and saw Stan getting his make-up done. I couldn't believe that I had agreed to travel all the way to, Altoona, PA ,  from New York, to cover a story on a supposedly 'haunted' house. The very famous “Baker Mansion” was being covered by “Network Newz” channel as a Halloween special. The mansion is supposedly haunted by Elias Baker the owner of the Baker mansion and his daughter Anna Baker. The story behind this place revolves around an affair that “Anna” had with a steelworker that worked at her father's Alleghany furnace.  Anna, who wanted to marry this ruggedly handsome labourer, bought herself a beautiful wedding dress, that stands to this day, displayed in a glass case in this mansion. They say she died a bitter spinster as she never got to wear that dress. The dress too is haunted, as it is seen moving and twirling, as if Anna were wearing it and admiring herself in the mirror, a proud bride-to-

The Best Days

Not everything goes our way, does it? No. It usually happens exactly the way we don't want it to go. I can almost imagine The Great Satan watching me on his flat screen on Global T.V.  Laughing like a maniac at how stumble in everyday situations. Each day seems like a challenge but don't we usually make it through and in the end manage a smile. That is the time you should smile at the ground and give Satan a lil' something something. Ya know what I mean. ;) You know how we are always told by the 'grown-ups' that you are living in paradise and your life couldn't be any better and that what they are facing are the real problems . Let me tell you the truth no problems are small and there are no such things as 'real' or 'fake' problems. What we are facing is what they have already done with and what they are facing we are yet to come face-to-face with. I mean seriously! Could you imagine our parents survive a single day of school with all the co
