Religion over life, again.

 Mc Kode, a rap artist from Delhi has been missing after posting a cryptic message on his Instagram story, about standing on an isolated bridge overlooking the Yamuna. Since then, people have been trying to search for him around all possible locations matching his description of the bridge. Several other rap artists such as Raftaar and Seedhe Maut and others on social media have posted about it.

The reason behind Kode attempting to take such a drastic step is because an old video of his rap battles surfaced online. In it, he used slang to take jibes at the Hindu epic, Mahabharata, and “abused Hinduism.” 

He soon became a target of local goons who threatened him, his family, and his friends.

Moksh, a musician, took to Instagram to post a series of events that led to the disappearance of Kode. Brands terminated contracts with him and all of Kode's work was taken down from the Internet overnight. 

Kode released an apology online, but it didn't satisfy the angry mobs that wanted him to pay for his remarks. 

“I’m very sorry to everyone whose sentiments have been hurt because of what I said. I was a teenager back then, looking for cheap reactions and never realized the consequences, and since then I have grown into someone who hates his teenage years because of my stupidity…” He wrote. “I’ve angered and a lot of people and that anger is understood and I deeply regret my actions. Currently, all my details have been leaked including my address and there is a mass movement of people calling for a mob Lynch of me and my family…”

His apology wasn’t accepted and the online mob wanted him to be arrested. However, instead of filing a report, they continued to harass him online by releasing his address and phone number to the public.

In the last message, Kode shared, he said he wanted to "safeguard people around him" and requested that people associated with him not be bothered and allowed to grieve.

Pictures and possible locations of where he could be found are being shared on Twitter and Instagram in an attempt to help find him.
