Film Industry Vs. Pahlaj Nihalani.

The role of the CBFC is to give film certification without which films cannot be released. That is all. I fail to understand why there is so much conflict between directors and the CBFC chief! If only Mr. Nihalani would do his job instead of forcing his opinion down the throat of the masses, we would all be happier. Their job is to view the content and give it a certification. Instead, they haggle with directors to make certain cuts to receive the desired certification.

We live in a free country yet we are slaves of the mindset that is being forced on us by government officials like Nihalani. Films like Phullu are trying to bring a change in their own little way but unfortunately have to face the demons at CBFC. Here's a thing, Menstruation is not an adult subject and yes, it IS UNIVERSAL.
Films promoting women empowerment or women speaking out are put under pressure because they go against their overall political agenda.  Where was Mr. Nihalani when women were being objectified in films or when a movie shows a man following a woman to get her attention? And because these scenes were not cut from the film, I see them being played out every day on the streets. So, harassment is universal but my period that I have been getting since I was twelve is not???
I wish I could understand how women being bold makes it un-sanskari.

.
The fight is not about just women empowerment but about our freedom to speak and to express. We see men behaving in the most obscene way but a woman asking for her rights and a man fighting for them is censored.
Mr. Nihalani needs to get clear or get out. Speak against nudity but not just in the case of women. And do your job but not more than is required.
